If you have a Marketplace health plan, what does the Executive Order issued on ACA Marketplaces mean for you and your coverage options?

“Not really anything,” says Shelli Quenga, who directs Palmetto Project’s insurance enrollment assistance work. “Today’s executive order about association health plans may only serve to confuse South Carolinians as we near the beginning of the fifth open enrollment period,” she continued. Palmetto Project’s team of certified insurance enrollment assisters are actually in training tomorrow with other enrollment assisters from around the state.

“There are several important changes that consumers need to be aware of. We’re focused on what people need to know right now to enroll or re-enroll in coverage for 2018,” said Quenga. South Carolinians can get answers to important questions about health insurance coverage by contacting Palmetto Project at 888-998-4646 or scheduling an in-person appointment now for a health insurance check-up.

Who We Are

For nearly 25 years, Palmetto Project has been working to create a system of care for the uninsured. The Affordable Care Act offers the first major opportunity in our lifetime to decrease the number of uninsured in South Carolina. We have created a network of certified enrollment assisters called signupSC. Through signupSC, you can access fair, accurate, and impartial information about your options for coverage in the Health Insurance Marketplace and SC Healthy Connections Medicaid so you can make the right decisions for your family.
