The South Carolina Healthcare Information & Resource Network

Making Health Care More Accessible in all 46 Counties

Today, every South Carolinian can get free, immediate assistance
in finding appropriate and affordable medical services for themselves and their families.

Our S.C. Healthcare Information & Resource Network (SCHIRN) is a statewide online and toll-free call center that directs any South Carolinian without private health insurance to appropriate and affordable medical providers and services in their communities.  Access to free and otherwise reduced priced pharmaceuticals means that more than low-income state residents without insurance usually do not have to pay full price for most of their medications.

  • Services are available through our toll-free call center (1-888-998-4646) where immediate assistance is provided by professionally-trained staff.
  • Contact information on hundreds of community prevention and education programs, health support groups, church and community outreach efforts is also available.
  • SCHIRN also provides links to information on Medicaid and Medicare Part D eligibility, and an online vehicle that searches 475 free and discounted prescription drug programs for which South Carolina residents may be eligible.
